How to Set Up Paid Memberships in VeloCMS

Step 1: Connect your Stripe account

Go to Admin → Settings → Memberships. Click "Connect Stripe." You'll be redirected to Stripe to authorize the connection. VeloCMS stores your API key encrypted at rest — we never see your Stripe revenue.

Step 2: Set your pricing

Create a Monthly tier ($X/month) and an Annual tier ($Y/year). The annual discount is a conversion driver — most readers who intend to support you long-term will choose annual if it saves 2+ months.

Step 3: Publish your first paid post

In the editor, open the Visibility panel on the right sidebar. Select "Members only." Save and publish. The post will show a preview for free readers and a full "Become a member" CTA with your pricing.

Step 4: Email your list

Use the Newsletter tab to send a launch email to your existing subscribers. Subject line: "I'm launching paid memberships — here's what you get." Keep it personal, not salesy. The first 48 hours drive 60% of launch revenue.
